Install

Prefer remote HTTP MCP. Add the URL and complete OAuth in the browser.
https://strada.sh/mcp
Preview:
https://preview.strada.sh/mcp
After Google sign-in, approve Allow access. Remote tools need --project because there is no folder setup.

Local stdio

Install the strada CLI first, log in, then register strada mcp with your MCP client.
npm install -g strada strada login strada whoami
Use the same strada on PATH that you already use in the terminal.

One-liner with install-mcp

@playwriter/install-mcp writes the client config for you. Pass the full command so the client starts the MCP server, not the TUI:
npx @playwriter/install-mcp 'strada mcp' --client cursor npx @playwriter/install-mcp 'strada mcp' --client claude-desktop npx @playwriter/install-mcp 'strada mcp' --client vscode npx @playwriter/install-mcp 'strada mcp' --client claude-code npx @playwriter/install-mcp 'strada mcp' --client opencode
Supported clients include Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, Windsurf, Claude Code, OpenCode, Zed, Goose, Cline, Codex, and Gemini CLI. See the install-mcp client list.

Manual Cursor config

Remote HTTP:
{ "mcpServers": { "strada": { "url": "https://strada.sh/mcp" } } }
Local stdio:
{ "mcpServers": { "strada": { "command": "strada", "args": ["mcp"] } } }
Restart the client after saving. The server should list tools such as issues_list, logs, and query.

Check that it works

From a terminal in a folder that already has strada setup:
strada issues list --since 24h
If that command prints issues, the stdio MCP tools in the same folder will too. If it asks you to log in, run strada login and try again.
The TUI (strada with no arguments) is not an MCP tool. Local clients must spawn strada mcp, not strada.
login, logout, database create, and database upgrade are also not tools. Run those in a terminal.
